Abstract

There are many factors that contribute to the risk of a hip fracture. The prevalence of hip fractures after an accident according to the gender, age, and fracture location was analyzed. According to the results, it can be concluded that the prevalence of fractures, mainly of the right femur, especially its middle part, is characteristic of young men (aged 18 to 25 years). The prevalence of these fractures at a young age coincides with the onset of driving, non-compliance with traffic rules, as well as the largest proportion of car accidents in this age group. At the same time, the increased prevalence of proximal fractures in women may be associated with early osteoporosis under the influence of sex hormones, pregnancy and requires further research.
