The world of medical education is going through a period of rapid change caused by the rapid development of artificial intelligence.Item Beyond survival: distance learning as a lifeline for medical education in Ukraine during the war(2024-05-28) Marakushyn, Dmytro; Bondareva, Alla; Morozov, OleksandrThe war in Ukraine, which has been going on for the second year in a row, could not but affect all areas of life, including higher education. The most important task for universities is not only to ensure the continuity of education, but also to guarantee the safety of students.Item Regarding the development of adaptation to psychic and emotional stress depending on the physical training in female medical students(2021-05-16) Marakushyn, Dmytro; Chernobai, Larysa; Karmazina, Iryna; Isaieva, Inna; Hloba, NataliiaThe adaptation of training stress largely depends on the processes of brain integrative activity thus, their study becomes important and perspective for the creation of scientifically based actions aimed at reduction of negative influence of the mentioned factors. Moreover, in the development of compensatory-adaptive reactions the huge role belongs to reactions of cardiovascular system, as its state determines both the short-term and the long-lasting adaptation to environment. That system is the main indicator of all processes ongoing in the human organismThe leading role in development of adaptation to psychic-emotional load belongs to the initial level of intellectual working ability that is based on the expression of asymmetry of hemispheres. 2) The physical training is one of the factors that facilitate the development of adaptation to the stress of studies. 3) The adaptation to constantly increasing psychic-emotional loads in the dynamics of training in medical university is provided by more economical functional changes of activity of cardiovascular system of sports students comparing to the students of general group.Item KhNMU is a leader in choosing foreigners for higher medical education(Association for Promotion of Education and Science Globalization SPACETIME, 2021-01-24) Marakushyn, Dmytro; Vasylieva, Oksana; Sinaiko, VadymIn the fall of 2020, the VI Faculty for International Students of Kharkiv National Medical University (KhNMU) celebrated its 10th anniversary – the first English language faculty at our university. Every year the contingent of English-speaking students of the VI faculty grew and the staff of the dean's office gradually expanded. We have all adapted to online learning, and conducted state examinations and graduation ceremonies in an 150 online format. We hope that despite the temporary difficulties, KhNMU will remain the leader in choosing foreigners for higher medical education in Ukraine. The experience of our university in training foreign medical personnel for different countries is almost 70 years, of which 25 have been in English, and our teachers, in addition to high professional qualities, have the skills of intercultural communication, as well as the ability to show love and respect for each foreign student in particular.Item Students' health status and their ability to adapt to a multinational university environment(ALUNA Publishing House, 2021) Меlnychenko, O.; Ognev, V.; Marakushyn, Dmytro; Isaieva, Inna; Batyuk, L.; Chovpan, Hanna; Melnychenko, V.The aim: Development of practical recommendations to further improve students' adaptation to a multicultural university environment as a factor in ensuring their health. Materials and methods: The publication is based on the results of a comprehensive multi-purpose randomized epidemiological study using a standardized questionnaire. Questionnaire results (n = 355) were tested for paired correlations of all considered factors. Results: 93,8 % of respondents positively assessed their overall health with a mode of 3 (satisfactory health). In general, students' health was not particularly sensitive to the effects of temporal and natural factors. Recommendations have been developed to improve students' adaptation to the university's multinational environment, including by preventing stressful situations. It is important that students are sufficiently informed, financially secure, and mentally prepared for student life. Conclusions: The key to safeguarding students' health is developing their skills in adapting to a multinational university environment.Item Autonomic supply of physical activity in young people with arterial hypotension(2020-02) Marakushyn, Dmytro; Chernobay, Larysa; Isaieva, Inna; Karmazina, Iryna; Goncharova, Аlina; Shenger, Svitlana; Bulynina, Oksana; Sokol, OlenaTotally 128 young people aged 17–21 were examined including 50 individuals with normal values of blood pressure and 78 people with arterial hypotension. Young people with arterial hypotension were ranged according to the level of arteral pressure: first group included 39 persons (moderate arterial hypotension) where the level of mean arterial pressure was determined as 80–75 mm Hg; the second group (expressed arterial hypotension) included 39 people with level of mean arterial pressure 74.9–70 mm Hg followed by an analysis of the nature of the adaptive capacity of cardiovascular system to exercise and in the recovery period.Item Effectiveness of glucocorticoids use in patients with SARS-COV-2(2020-08) Marakushyn, Dmytro; Chernobay, Larysa; Isaieva, Inna; Karmazina, Iryna; Kosai, ZoabiThe purpose of our research was to summarize the current evidence of the effectiveness of glucocorticoid therapy for patients with SARS-COV-2. In our review, we have mentioned the principal mechanisms of corticosteroids action and their roles in suppression of immune response in patients with COVID-19. The research was done using available sources including). 15 were chosen concerning the topic of research. In conclusion, glucocorticoid therapy may increase the risk of death in patients with coronavirus infections who have mild symptoms but still no association found between glucocorticoids and mortality in patients with severe symptoms.Based on the data of researches, short-term and low dose systemic glucocorticoid therapy may be acceptable. But a step forward should be represented by the results of the researched, showing a reduction of death risk for patients on ventilators and on oxygen therapy treated with low dose of glucocorticoids. Currently, the use of immunosuppressants is considered reasonable, despite the risk of adverse events and delayed viral clearance, where the resolution of respiratory failure is the biggest problem in phases IIb and III of COVID-19 patients with the lack of drugs to be effective in such patients.Item The level of organism functioning as an indicator of premorbid conditions (Review)(2019) Marakushyn, Dmytro; Melnychenko, O.; Chernobay, Larysa; Vasylieva, O.; Isaieva, Inna; Karmazina, Iryna; Hloba, Nataliia; Dunaieva, Olha; Goncharova, АlinaThe state of the organism is the consequences of interaction with the environment, that is, the result of adaptation or maladaptation of the organism to the environment. The transition from health to illness can be seen as a process of gradually reducing the ability of a person to adapt to changes in social, educational, and production environments and surrounding conditions. Achievement of any level of functioning of an organism or its separate systems is provided through the activity of regulatory mechanisms. The mobilization of reserves occurs as a result of changes in the level of activity of regulatory systems. This is primarily due to an increase in the tone of the sympathetic department of the autonomic nervous system. In those cases where the body constantly has a deficit of functional reserves to support homeostasis, there is a state of functional stress, which is characterized by the displacement of the autonomic balance in favor of the adrenergic mechanisms and the corresponding changes in the hormonal state. In the state of functional stress, all of the basic functions of the body are within physiological norm, but the organism spends functional reserves to maintain the normal level of functioning. The process of adaptation precedes the development of a disease that results from the lack of adaptation mechanisms, their reduction and disruption. The development of maladaptation is preceded by the state of adaptability, and after the maladaptation the state of the disease develops, i.e. all the conditions that precede the disease, that is, the failure of adaptation, are united in the premorbid state. The process of identifying the states that border between the norm and the pathology, when it does not yet have signs of the disease, that is, the premorbid states, is called premorbid diagnostics. The diagnosis of premorbid states takes into account the use of methods and equipment that are designed for processing information in the range of relative functional stability of the organism with the definition of the vector of adaptation processes and that is an integral part of preventive medicine.Item The method of particular situations and its influence оn the formation of communicative competence in medical students with different types of functional asymmetry(2019-11-07) Marakushyn, Dmytro; Bulynina, Oksana; Isaieva, Inna; Karmazina, Iryna; Alekseienko, RomanPersons with the left-side type of functional asymmetry took the most active part in the solution of situational tasks and they obtained a maximum point total 22.4 at the last experimental lesson in physiology. Persons with the mixed type of functional asymmetry and the socially-variable type of asymmetry persons had the most explicit negative communicative mindset and the use of the developed technique resulted in a decrease of the number of persons by such indicators as “open cruelty to people”, “covert cruelty to people and judgment about them” and “grumbling”. After the use of the method of particular situations the persons with a different type of functional asymmetry were able to cope easier with the following tasks, for example skillfully analyze the algorithm of the solution of real hands-on situations, build up the skills of the differentiation between the problems of primary and minor importance, formulate the problems; simulate especially complicated situations and interact with each other.Item Comprehensive assessment of health status of the human body(2019-09-30) Marakushyn, Dmytro; Chernobay, Larysa; Isaieva, Inna; Karmazina, Iryna; Pandikidis, Nadiya; Maslova, Natalia; Kirichenko, Michle; Sokol, Olena; Kovalyov, Maxym; Shenger, SvitlanaThe problem of health is complex and is studied by many different sciences, but in modern conditions, a healthy lifestyle is a determining factor in maintaining and promoting health in workingage young people. In order to influence the behavior of young people, the great efforts of the individual, family and society are needed. The only radical way of solving the problem is a radical restructuring of our views on the causes and consequences of our condition, and formation of the foundations of a healthy lifestyle will help to achieve the necessary results by restructuring the system of education and upbringing in youth of self-responsibility and a sense of self-preservation, which will help in the development of armonious, responsible, purposeful and happy person.
